Why clubs list with us

Turf time is expensive. Sponsors help pay for it

Turf hire, umpires and gear make hockey one of the dearer club sports to run. Local businesses are happy to help when someone asks. List what you have and let them ask you.

  • New sponsors find you

Local businesses browse what your hockey club offers and ask to back you. No more committee members ringing round the same five businesses every pre-season.

  • More money for the juniors

Team sponsors and Player of the Day vouchers help cover turf hire, keep junior subs down and put new sticks and keeper gear in the shed.

  • Closer ties with local business

Every sponsor becomes part of the club: they come down on a Saturday, they get thanked in front of everyone, and the members return the favour by shopping with them.

What you can list

Every team on the turf

List each one on its own, by the week, the month or the whole season. You set the price for each.

Look after your sponsors

What a sponsor gets from your club, not just a logo

Add any of these to a listing so a business can see exactly what backing you gets them. Sponsors who feel part of the club are the ones who come back next season.

  • A sign in the clubrooms

  • Posts on the club's socials

Their logo on the results post and a thank you post when they sign up.

  • Team photo for their wall

A framed team photo in the sponsor's shirts, for their shop or office.

How it works

It's this easy

  1. 1

    List it

A photo and a price. Free.

  2. 2

    They find you

A local advertiser books your space.

  3. 3

    Advert arrives

It's sent to you or dropped in.

  4. 4

    Put it up

Snap a quick photo so they know it's up.

  5. 5

    You beauty!

All done. The money goes to your bank.

You never design or print a thing. The advert is always supplied to you.

Supporting local

Every booking gives to a charity you choose.

Pick a local cause the club cares about, and every time a business books one of your sponsorships a donation goes to it. It never comes out of the club's pocket, and it is something to tell your members about at prizegiving.

Does it cost the club anything?

No. Listing is free, there is no monthly fee and no lock-in contract. The club is paid the full price it sets.

What should we charge?

Up to you. Real New Zealand club price lists usually run from about $100 to $500 for the small things, $1,000 to $2,500 for team and kit sponsors, and $3,000 and up for naming rights. Start there and adjust.

Do we have to take every sponsor who asks?

No. You see who the business is before you say yes, and you can decline anyone who does not fit the club.

We hire the turf. Can we still list?

Yes. List what the club controls: your teams, kit and awards. Turf signs are up to whoever runs the turf.

Who on the committee looks after it?

Usually the treasurer or a sponsorship volunteer. One login, and others can be given access too.
